ADW DRAFTING SERVICES TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. Services provided by ADW Drafting Services shall be referred to in these terms and conditions as “Shop Drawings” for Aluminum Storefront and Curtainwall systems. These Shop Drawings are prepared for Subcontractors in the Glass and Glazing industry.
  2. Payment terms are net 15 days after completion of the Shop Drawings and receipt of invoice.
  3. If a digitally prepared quotation has been submitted for a project, the ​project will not be scheduled until ADW Drafting Services receive acceptance of the quoted price and these terms & conditions, along with complete and up to date architectural drawings and other accompanying documents, as well as a clear and concise scope of work required for the project. If changes to architectural drawings occur during or after the submittal process, it is the customer’s responsibility to advise ADW Drafting Services when changes have been made and the extent of the changes.
  4. All Aluminum Storefront and Curtainwall products shown on the prepared Shop Drawings must be installed per manufacturer's standard installation instructions obtained by the Glazing Subcontractor from the manufacturer of the products listed on the Shop Drawings. The details shown within the Shop Drawings are not intended to supersede manufacturer standards and best practices for proper installation of Aluminum Storefront and Curtainwall systems.
  5. Final approval by the customer constitutes acceptance of any, and all deviations to the contract documents made by ADW Drafting Services in the prepared Shop Drawings.
  6. Shop Drawings prepared by ADW Drafting Services will only include information found in the scope of work and contract documents and as listed on the cover sheet of the Shop Drawings.
  7. The Shop Drawings prepared in conjunction with these terms and conditions represent a contract between ADW Drafting Services and our customer. Reviewed drawings that are returned for corrections are deemed to be approved by the customer once the noted corrections have been completed.
  8. The cost for Shop Drawing revisions, if required, will be determined on a job-by-job basis.

DRAFTING SPECIFIC TERMS & CONDITIONS 

  1. Shop Drawings prepared by ADW Drafting Services, represent our interpretation of the application of Aluminum Storefront and Curtainwall products for the project in compliance with the architectural drawings and specifications and are submitted for approval.
  2. Laws and building and safety codes governing the design and use of glazing entrances, windows and curtain wall products vary widely. ADW Drafting Services does not control the selection of product configurations, operating hardware or glazing materials and assumes no responsibility thereof.
  3. Written dimensions on the shop drawings shall take precedence over scaled dimensions.
  4. Floor plans provided in the shop drawings are for storefront window elevation, and storefront door location purposes only and should not be used for construction purposes.
  5. It shall be the responsibility of the Glazing Subcontractor to verify all dimensions at the job site. Any discrepancies should be brought to the attention of the general contractor for this project. ADW Drafting Services will not be responsible for incorrect framing, fabrication or glass sizes.
  6. Hardware schedules for storefront doors included in Shop Drawings are shown for reference only. ADW Drafting Services is not responsible for the accuracy of the hardware schedule.
  7. Exterior window elevations shown in the Shop Drawings are typically drawn from the viewpoint of the exterior of the building unless noted otherwise. Interior window elevations are typically drawn from the viewpoint outside the room or office and should be referenced on the floor plan to determine the direction of viewpoint as indicated by the window symbol direction designation. (Refer to the “Symbols Legend” and “Abbreviations” on the Shop Drawing cover sheet for window designation symbols and direction viewpoint)
  8. Storefront door swings are typically drawn from the viewpoint from outside of the building, room or office to match what is specified in the architectural drawings. Storefront door swings are to be verified by the glazing contractor to meet the egress requirements of local and state building codes. (Refer to the “Symbols Legend” and “Abbreviations” on the Shop Drawing cover sheet for storefront door swing symbols and designations)
  9. The vertical section cut details are typically drawn with the exterior side to the left side of the detail unless noted otherwise. The horizontal section cut details are typically drawn with the exterior side to the bottom side of the detail unless noted otherwise. (Refer to the “Symbols Legend” on the Shop Drawing cover sheet)
  10. ​Perimeter conditions in the Shop Drawings details represent our interpretation of the substrate as drawn in the architectural drawings. These conditions should be confirmed and verified by the architect, and or general contractor.
